Reviews
Had the coconut latte and chocolate lava cake with coconut ice cream. Latte was smooth and an extra shot was also given by the side. Lava cake was bitter sweet and not too sweet, much to my liking.
Note: You can leave a google review to claim a free coconut ice cream, which we definitely did! 😄
Went on a Sunday morning.
Tried baby chino, soldier eggs
And mentaiko chicken croissant + salted caramel latte and almond croissant + mocha.
The coffee in Mocha is kind of strong.
Like the food here 👍
Parking is not so easy here though…
Found this highly rated cafe on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. Located in the quaint Joo Chiat area, this is a spacious cafe with a roastery inside.
It was quite empty at 11AM on a Tuesday but started filling around noon. Service is ok, could definitely be friendlier.
We ordered the following -
1) Kings Breakfast - Filling breakfast with scrambled eggs, a pork garlic sausage and herb sausage, tater tots, mushrooms and sourdough bread. The pork garlic sausage was slightly salty, but otherwise this is a great breakfast. The scrambled eggs could do with some pepper/chilli.
2) Smoked salmon eggs benedict - Loved the smoked salmon, was fresh and combined so well with the eggs benedict served on the sourdough. Comes with avocado and surprisingly small crispy rice puff.
3) Coconut Latte - Wanted to try their signature coffees. Really liked the coconut latte, though a bit too milky for my liking. Comes lined toasted coconut flakes.
4) Yuen Yang - Loved this! Took the hot version. Espresso shots mixed with homemade milk tea. I added the extra espresso shot to give it a stronger taste.
A bit on the expensive side for sure, but I think it’s decent value for money.
First time back at King's Cart since its revamp. Must say that it's still every bit as enjoyable! Love their coffee varieties - from coconut latte to salted caramel to sng buay (sour plum) to the alcoholic offerings. We tried the salted caramel latte today and it is legit! Fragrant, strong and still contains the bitter aftertaste of caramel.
Tried the coconut affogato and enjoyed it very much! There was a generous scoop of coconut ice-cream with toasted coconut flakes accompanied by a strong and fragrant expresso shot. Loved it!
Was also in the mood for a dessert so we went for the dark chocolate lava cake with coconut ice cream and toasted dessicated coconut. It was yummy indeed. Dark and rich lava flowing out, well-contrasted with the scoop of coconut ice-cream and complimented well by the coconut flakes which added a crunch. Enjoyed it.
Was also tempted by the chocolate fudge cake, carrot cake, burnt basque cheesecake and croissants. Haha!
We visited on a Sunday at about 3pm. It was full, but some tables cleared fast enough.
Efficient service. Will be back.
We went their just for their coffee. Luckily there's bar counter. Dining time 1.5hrs. We saw the free old ground coffee at their door (you may take it home and use it later for deodoriser or repellent, not bad right?)
We ordered Ahboling (black sesame tangyuan served with espresso), White Iced (Brazil & Lintong), Hash brown, Brownie.
The coffee is ✨️ and the sides were great, especially Hashbrown with the Keffir Lime Mayo.
Side note, Brownie (with seasalt flakes) was not very sweet, but not very chocolatey as it stated (72% dark choco).
Staff were attentive and the foods served to us quite fast even when they are having Full House. May revisit again for their mains! 👌
Sng Buey coffee was interesting. Tasted a bit like Coca-Cola. Pandan cream coffee was not bad, wasn't too thick, and the panda smell was quite fragrant. Coconut coffee was good, too. Bought their Brazil coffee beans and made cold brew at home, beans could be more fragrant.
The blue pea flower tea tasted a bit weird for my friend. She said that it tasted like medicine 😅
Got a yuzu cloud coffee and a basque burnt cheesecake. The yuzu coffee mix was nice and refreshing. I look forward to trying their lunch mains in the future! (Expect to spend 30++ per pax)
The staff were friendly and the vibe of the place was really nice!
Dine-in time limit of 90 minutes for those of us planning to work~
(Just had their coconut ice cream and it was really food actually! The coconut bits were so crunchy and the coconut wasn't too sweet or heavy)
Perfect cup of flat white, iced latte and a surprisingly good coconut latte.
The coconut latte (as almost all drinks) could be adjusted to suit your preference. It even came with an extra complimentary shot of espresso to add if we found it too thin. Would come back.
Had a short wait on Saturday 3pm+. Closes quite early and limited seats with a few taken by laptop campers.
